Thames River Heritage Park featured in Connecticut Magazine

June 26, 2017

The Thames River Heritage Park, planned by the Yale Urban Design Workshop in 2015 with the support of the Avery-Copp House, in Groton, Connecticut, was featured last month in Connecticut Magazine Water taxi service planned as a critical element of the park, connecting heritage sites on both sides of the river while allowing visitors to experience the Thames River as the public space of the region.  In summer 2017, the water taxi will run its second full season, with funding from the State of Connecticut received as a result of the planning effort.

In other news, on  June 26, 2017, the Day reported that the Connecticut Port Authority has approved a $730,000 grant that will enable the Submarine Force Museum, the fourth planned stop on the water taxi, to construct a floating dock.  Congratulations to the THRP board for all their hard work!
